PvdD: 'Building can be done on Betonbos without cutting trees'

If it was up to the Party for the Animals (PvdD), no trees will be cut down on the Betonbos site and there will be a fully-fledged alternative for the residents if the site is redeveloped anyway.
Up to now, the party has questionned the Mayor and Aldermen.
The political party is worried about the state of affairs: "This old industrial terrain used to be a place with a lot of nuisance from crime, but this place has become a creative breeding ground", says council member Wesley Pechler. "Tiny forests like Betonbos are really important for animal life in an urban area. If the development plans continue, there is sufficient space for housing on the forecourt without having to cut the forest ".
The Party for the Animals (PvdD) calls on the municipal authorities to play an intermediary role between the landowner and the residents. In addition, the party asks the college to facilitate the search for a new, alternative location for the Betonbos residents, to give them a new place in the municipality.
